Women's Fencing Notches 4-1 Mark at D'Arnstein Invitational
HAVERFORD, Pa. -  The Haverford College women's fencing team defeated William & Mary, Navy, Swarthmore, and Bryn Mawr while defending the home turf at Saturday's home tournament, only falling to the Blue Jays from Johns Hopkins.

The strongest fencer in the tournament was first year epeeist Nina Hamilton, who was 9-2 on the day, including one of only two wins against JHU. The epeeists led the team in squad wins, aided by Ceanne Lyon's five and Jocelyne Malan's four victories.  In the foil, Sophie Gardiner and Nina Chafee each had six wins, as did sabriste Rebecca Osbaldeston.

Sabriste Caroline Donado, after missing the first three rounds, suited up to help get a key win against Bryn Mawr, as well as claiming one of the two wins against Johns Hopkins.

The Haverford women's team will compete next on Sunday, January 15, at the Penn State Invitational, against the host Nittany Lions as well as squads from North Carolina, Duke, Yale, Penn, and Temple.
