Haverford  takes down Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Ten different players tallied goals as the Haverford College women's lacrosse team rolled past host Bryn Mawr College, 17-5, in Centennial Conference action on Thursday afternoon.

The Fords (5-7, 3-2 CC) answered back quickly in the first half after the Owls (2-8, 0-7) took the early 1-0 lead. Scoring her first of five on the day, Megan Gallagher converted a free position shot with three and a half minutes gone in the contest to get Haverford on the scoreboard. Diana Perry, followed with her 21st of season two minutes later to give the Fords a lead they would not relinquish.

Scoring nine more over the remaining minutes of the first half, Haverford led 11-1 at intermission.

The two squads traded goals over the opening ten minutes of the second half before the Fords struck for three straight, including Rosie Samide's first of the season, to extend their advantage to 16-3 with 10 minutes left in the contest.

Alexa Pesce, Kenny Likes, and Alexis Bond added two goals apiece for Haverford. Perrin Downing chipped in with a goal and three assists. Josie Ferri, Hannah Morgan and Dayna Kim also tallied goals.

The Fords won the ground ball battle over Bryn Mawr 25-20, as Grace Stockbower and Brianna Robbins each grabbed three. Haverford was also a perfect 17-for-17 on clears during the game.

Leah Hammerschlag (5-7) made 10 saves to earn her fifth win of the season.

Natalie Chrismer and Kathleen Magner each registered two goals for the Owls.

The Fords welcome Washington College to Swan Field on Wednesday night in the first of two-straight home contests. Game time is 7 p.m.
