HAVERFORD, Pa. - Josie Ferri tallied three goals and two assists but a second-half rally by the Haverford College women's lacrosse team came up short as it fell, 10-7, to visiting Washington College in Centennial Conference action on Wednesday night.

The Fords (5-8, 3-3 CC) rallied from a 1-0 deficit when Ferri scored her 21st of the year at the 24:20 mark of the first. Converting a nice look from Megan Gallagher, Ferri added another with 10 minutes to go in the half to before assisting on Alexis Bond's eighth of the year to push the Fords out to a 3-2 advantage.

Receiving three-straight goals from Carly Eisenbrandt, the Shorewomen (8-4, 4-2) surged back to take a 5-3 lead with four minutes remaining in the half.

Haverford answered back twice in the final minute of first-half action as Perrin Downing scored with 48 seconds left, and Jen Schmidt struck for her 10th of the year with just seven seconds remaining, to forge a 5-5 tie at intermission.

Scoring four straight to start the second half, Washington took a 9-5 lead. The Fords dug deep to score two of the next three to close within three, but would get no closer as the Shorewomen's Stephanie Seibert (six saves), stood tall in the goal over the remaining minutes of play.

Alexa Pesce chipped in with a goal and an assist for Haverford.

Finishing with five goals and one assist, Eisenbrandt took game-high honors in goals and points to lead Washington.

Leah Hammerschlag (5-8) made seven saves in the loss.

The Fords face another Centennial challenge on Saturday when they welcome No. 7 Franklin & Marshall College to Swan Field. The contest begins at noon.
