PHILADELPHIA - Haverford College's Grace Stockbower added another honor to her postseason list of accolades on Tuesday when the senior earned inclusion to the Philadelphia Inquirer 2013 Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Team as announced by the Philadelphia-Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA).

In order to be eligible for academic all-area, an athlete must be in at least her second year at the institution and own a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Stockbower, a member of the 2013 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region Second Team, was a mainstay on defense for Haverford throughout her career as she started 68 of a possible 69 contests. Earning second-team All-Centennial Conference honors this season, Stockbower ranked second in the conference in caused turnovers with 34.

Named to the conference's academic honor roll, the psychology major reached double figures in goals (10) for the first time in her career in 2013 and she accounted for the game-winning tally against McDaniel College on March 30. Stockbower was also chosen to participate in the 2013 IWLCA/DeBeer North-South Senior All-Star Game at Cabrini College on May 26.

Stockbower's leadership during her senior campaign proved immeasurable as the Fords set a new program mark with seven Centennial wins on the season and tied the program record for overall wins (13) on their way to qualifying for the Centennial semifinals.

The native of Fort Washington, Pa., finished her career ranked third in program history in caused turnover (102) and fourth in caused turnovers per game (1.50).

Stockbower was one of 12 members of the women's lacrosse academic all-area team which included performer of the year Kelli Joran from Drexel University.
