HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team was selected as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/ZagSports Academic Squad while seven members of the program have earned a spot on the IWLCA/ZagSports Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced in a release on Friday.

Haverford joins 275 schools across all three NCAA division and the NAIA in picking up the honor. In order to qualify, programs must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA during the 2015-16 academic year.

Elyse Adler, Courtney Carter, Megan Chenworth, Claire Cote, Averi Gaines, Annie Kelly and Lucy Koch were all named to the honor roll, with Adler, Chenworth and Kelly receiving the honor for the second straight season. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the 2015-16 academic year. This year's list featured student-athletes from 149 different institutions.

At the end of the 2016 campaign, The Fords placed a program-record 13 players on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll to lead all conference schools. Chenworth, a senior captain, was named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area honors last month and was also an Ambler scholar athlete. Adler was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team and set a record for career games played in a Fords uniform (69) during the 2016 campaign.

For the fifth time in seven years, Haverford won at least 10 games and made the Centennial Conference tournament for the third time in the last four years.  Haverford returns five of its seven players who scored at least 10 goals this season.
