Women's squash falls in opening match of Howe Cup team championship

PRINCETON, N.J. – On the opening day of the Collegiate Squash Association's Howe Cup women's team championship, the Haverford College women's team fell, 6-3, to Cal-Berkeley in its opening match.

The Fords (1-11), playing in the round robin E Division of the championship, defeated Vanderbilt, 7-2, in their second match of the day.

Caroline Nightingale and Randee Johnson were victorious at Nos. 1 and 4, respectively. The Commordores forfeited at Nos. 5-9 to give HC the win.

Round robin play continues Saturday for several other teams in the division while the Fords enjoy a day off.

Sunday's match-ups begin with the fifth/sixth-place match at 8:30 a.m. followed by the third/fourth-place match and finally the division championship duel.
