Women's squash battles Drexel

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's squash team gave visiting Drexel University a battle at every spot on the ladder but the Fords fell 9-0 to the 21st-ranked Dragons on Wednesday night at the Gardner Integrated Athletic Center Squash Courts.

The No. 35 Fords (3-10) received a great effort from Alyssa Kaden, at No. 9, as she pushed her match with Andrea Miguelez to four games due to a game-one victory (6-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-7).

Also playing well in defeat was Bethany Simmonds at No. 1. Simmonds fell in the first game 11-4 but grew stronger as the match progressed (11-7, 11-5). Alex Love, at No. 2, duplicated the effort by displaying consistency throughout her match with Katherine Barnes of the Dragons (6-9).

Haverford ends its regular-season slate with a home tri-match on Saturday against the University of Virginia and Bucknell University. The Fords take on the Cavaliers at 11 a.m. before closing the day with a 3 p.m. contest against the Bison.
