Women's Squash Continues Winning Streak with 3-0 Day

BLAIRSTOWN, N.J. – The Haverford College women's squash team had a banner afternoon as it went 3-0 on the day, defeating NYU (9-0), Fordham (9-0) and the University of Rochester (8-1). The Fords have now won four matches in a row.

Freshman Isabelle Gotuaco, junior Bethany Simmonds, sophomore Isabel Agnew, senior Alex Love and senior Samara Flug went 3-0 on the day, not dropping a game. Gotuaco, Simmonds, Agnew, Love and Flug have won four straight matches. Only four games between the five players were within four points.

Freshman Grace Fioramonti-Gorchow also had an undefeated day and did not drop a game. She only allowed 25 total points in her three match sweep. Senior Avery Weisel and sophomore Emilia Cobbs won against Fordham and the University of Rochester while picking up an uncontested victory against NYU. Junior Sabina Aliev also scored a victory against Fordham.

Dating back to last season, the Fords have won 10 of their last 12 matches including six 9-0 victories. Haverford will take some time off now and get back in action on Jan. 10 for its annual alumnae matches.
