PHILADELPHIA -- Haverford College women's squash senior Sarah Madigan was voted to the 2015-16 Philadephia Inquirer Academic All-Area team. The all-area team is voted on by sports information offices of the 29 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The at-large teams take into account those student-athletes from area schools whose sports do not have a dedicated Academic All-Area team. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or better.

Madigan also made recent headlines when she received the William W. Ambler Award, presented by the Haverford College Department of Athletics to the senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average.

The Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. native won three matches this season, including two from the No. 2 ladder position. She helped the women's squash team finish its season ranked No. 32 with another College Squash Association Team Championships appearance in the Epps Cup. Head coach Niki Clement was given the Chaffee Award, presented anually to a women's coach whose has demonstrated the qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork, character, and improvement.
