Women's Squash Overcome By Vassar, 8-1

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The No. 30 Haverford Women's Squash team was defeated, 8-1 by the visiting No. 27 Vassar College Brewers on Saturday afternoon at the GIAC Squash Courts. Haverford falls to 1-7 on the season thus far in defeat while the Brewers moved to 7-2 on the season after the road win.

Freshman Kaitlin Reese continued a strong start to her collegiate career as she was able to make quick work of her opponent Isabelle Bertram at the second spot on the ladder, prevailing 3-0 with 11-5, 11-6 and 11-3 games.

At the number three spot on the Ladder, Isabel Agnew was able to take a game from Sydney Nemphos, winning the third of four by a tally of 11-7 to stave off a sweep. At the Number five spot on the ladder, Mason McNulty took a third game victory over Carly Scher, prevailing 11-8 in similar fashion, denying Scher's sweep attempt.

At the number six spot, Emilia Cobbs battled Cherylann Mucciolo in the third set before falling 14-12. Similarly, Stephanie Lukez fought hard in a great effort against Emma Glickman before falling 14-12 in the third game at the No. 9 spot on the ladder. 

Next weekend is a busy one for the Fords, as Haverford hosts No. 29 Mount Holyoke on Saturday, January 28 before traveling to Carlisle, Pa. to battle No. 21 Dickinson as well as Denison on Sunday, January 29. Haverford is then home for the final three regular season matches against Georgetown (Feb. 4), Boston College (Feb. 11) and Bucknell (Feb. 11).
