Women's Squash Notches Program-Record Six CSA Scholar Athletes

Full CSA Release

PHILADELPHIA - The Haverford College women's squash team was well represented on the College Squash Association (CSA) Scholar-Athlete honorees list, with six members of the squad picking up the award for the 2021-22 season. The six selections is the most in program history, breaking the record of four set in 2019.

The Scholar-Athlete Award was granted this season to varsity juniors or seniors who have played on the team throughout their college career, earned at least two varsity letters, participated in the majority of the team's matches in the top 10 of the lineup during the season, and achieved a high academic standing at their institution. CSA Scholar Athletes represent the values of the association, specifically including student-athletes achieving a high level of play on court while excelling in the classroom.

The award recipients from Haverford included seniors Izzy Johnson and Shreya Singh, along with juniors Maisie Smith, Caroline Smith, Lyvia Yan and Emilia Zegers. Johnson and Singh each picked up the award for the second consecutive season after previously earning the honors during their junior campaigns.

Haverford takes the No. 27 ranking into the offseason by virtue of a third place finish in the Epps Cup or "D" Division in Boston two weekends ago. The ranking is the highest year-end ranking for the program since the 2005-06 season.
