PHILADELPHIA - The Haverford College women's squash team (7-10) wrapped up action in the College Squash Association (CSA) Women's Team Championships with the third-place playoff on Sunday, as the 28th-ranked Fords dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 26 St Lawrence (5-14), the top seeded team in the Epps Cup grouping this season. Action shifted from the Penn Squash Center across University City to Drexel's Kline and Specter Squash Center for the matinee contest.

St. Lawrence took sweeps at all eight spots on the ladder that were contested, as Haverford picked up its individual match victory by default as the Saints traveled with just eight players to Philadelphia.

Haverford senior captain Caroline Smith put up a strong battle against Petra DeRose at the third flight, taking her Saints opponent to back-to-back 11-8 decisions in the first two games. Clarice Xu did the same against Tita Hicks at the eighth flight, while Aman Hamdard similarly reached eight points at the seventh flight against Xitali Zuniga.

The 2022-23 season represented the second consecutive year the Fords have reached the Epps Cup third-place game, as the regular season featured signature wins over Connecticut College and Chatham, with Haverford reaching the No. 23 ranking in mid-December en-route to the third seed in the Epps Cup.

With the team season now concluded, Haverford will await the pairings for the CSA Individual Championships, which will open on Friday, March 3 at the Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center in Philadelphia.
