Season Recap: Sullivan's All-America Performance Highlights Strong Indoor T&F Season

NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship

  • NCAA All-American: Katie Sullivan (eighth, mile); her second All-American certificate (2016 DMR)
  • Haverford scored one point and tied for 66th place in the team standings
  • Sullivan is the team's fourth qualifier to the indoor mile (also had four qualifiers at the 1,500 meter distance)
  • Sullivan is the second All-American in the mile, while two earned All-America status in the 1,500 meters
  • Haverford has had a qualifier to the indoor national championships in three straight seasons

School Record

Season Notes: Haverford has now earned 17 All-America certificates during the indoor track & field season … Katie Sullivan has represented the Fords at four national championships (twice in cross country, twice in indoor track & field) … Haverford has had two or more individual Centennial Conference champions in 16 of the last 24 seasons and just once (2002-03) have the Fords gone without a single individual champion … Sullivan is now a three-time Centennial Conference champion as she won the 800 meters last year during both the indoor and outdoor seasons … Taylor Murphy is now a two-time Centennial Conference Champion as she was also a member of the winning 4x200 relay during the 2016 indoor championships.

Looking ahead:

All-American Katie Sullivan and school record holder Nicole Giannetti highlight an exceptionally strong junior class that also features past conference champions Amelia Keyser-Gibson, Claire Sargent, Mairead Ferry, and Amy Zamora. Kerry Quigley, Tess Oberholtzer, and Sophie Drew have also been members of past Centennial Conference Championship relay teams and will look to add to those accolades in the coming years.
