Women's Track & Field Wraps Up CC Indoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team took part in day two of the 2022 Centennial Conference Championships at Ursinus College on Sunday afternoon. The Fords finished sixth overall in the team standings with 35 points after the completion of the weekend.

Haverford's performances on day two were highlighted by Isabel Thornberry in the 400 meter dash. The quarter-miler finished on the podium, grabbing third place with a personal best of 1:00.39. Her time was 0.01 better than her previous best, ending the indoor season on a high note. In the hurdles, Jahsaiah Moses grabbed two points for the Fords with a seventh place finish. The junior again ran a personal best, running 10.04. Her previous personal best came in the preliminary rounds of the weekend on Saturday. 

In the distance events, Angie Petrichenko and Katie Hirsche competed in the 3,000 meter run. Petrichenko finished fourth, crossing the finish line with a personal best time of 10:06.61, 10 seconds faster than her previous best in the event. Hirsche ran a personal best finishing eighth with a time of 10:27.06. Haverford's 4x800 meter relay team later finished seventh. The team of Ella Fleming, Dominique Monroy, Annemarie Wood, and Lauren Tanel crossed the finish line as the clock read 10:09.82. 

To complete the meet, the Fords' 4x400 meter relay team finished just out of podium position, finishing fourth. Naomi Fukuda, Jahsaiah Moses, Isabel Thornberry, and Rachel November ran a season-best  4:09.71.

In total, Haverford finished with four medals, and the squad will now look ahead towards the outdoor track and field season. The Tufts Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 5 serves as an option for final qualifying opportunities.
