HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Katie Hirsche was named to United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Metro Region honors for the 2022-23 indoor season, the organization announced in a postseason awards release on Tuesday afternoon. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for these All-Region awards. All-Region designation is reserved for student-athletes who are ranked within the top five marks for an individual event according to the final TFRRS lists or runners who are part of a relay team that finished within the top three squads in the region.

The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season. Hirsche picked up the All-Metro honor for the 5,000 meters as she took the Centennial Conference bronze in the event, and posted the fastest time in the Metro region this season at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. The converted mark of 17.41:94 was the only mark in the entirety of the Metro region that was sub-18 minutes.

With the indoor season coming to a close for the women's team, the Fords now turn their sites toward the outdoor season which is set to get underway at the Ursinus College Outdoor Invite on March 25. That meet is slated to begin at 10 a.m. and serves as a prelude to the larger Danny Curran Invitational at Widener on March 31.
