PRINCETON, N.J. - Competing against a loaded field of Division I harriers, Haverford first year Katie Hirsche placed seventh in the 5,000 meters at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday evening at Weaver Stadium.

Hirsche logged a time of 18:08.29, placing ahead of Katie Pou of Penn (8th) and Maeve Gimbert of LaSalle (9th). Lindsay McNeill of Ramapo was the other Division III runner in the field, crossing in 10th.

Hirsche, a USTFCCCA All-Region selection in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters during the indoor campaign, was marking her collegiate outdoor 5,000 meter debut but deftly outpaced her indoor PR of 18:09.95 set at the Fastrack Invitational in New York City earlier this year.

The rest of the Women's Track & Field squad will be in action tomorrow at Widener's Chester Quarry Classic. Events are slated to begin at 9 a.m. and continue through the late afternoon in Chester, Pa. Live results are available via hav.to/coverage
