Ranked Profs defeat Fords

GLASSBORO, N.J. - The No. 10-ranked Rowan University Profs opened up an first half lead over the visiting Fords and eventually closed out the win by a 4-0 score.

Haverford (0-2) was led by five shots from Alex Waleko but neither the junior nor her teammates could get anything past Rowan (2-0) goalkeeper Lisa Apt who finished with seven saves in the victory.

The Profs scored in the 11th minute getting a deflection off a penalty corner past Haverford goalie Maggie Cronin. They doubled their point total five minutes later then added a third after, again, five more minutes of action.

Cronin finished with six saves on an afternoon in which Rowan out shot the visitors by a 15 to seven margin.

The Fords' next game will be on Sept. 12 at Delaware Valley followed by a home game on Sept. 17 against the College of Notre Dame (Md.).
