Centennial weekly defensive honor goes to field hockey's Jaffe

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference on Monday announced that Haverford College field hockey junior co-captain Roxanne Jaffe has been named its Defensive Player of the Week.

Jaffe centered a defensive corp that allowed a combined total of just 12 shots in the Fords' two victories during the week.

Wesley was able to get only four of its shots on goal in a 4-2 loss to the Fords last Wednesday and 18th-ranked Stevens was limited to just two shots on goal Sunday evening in Haverford's 4-1 upset of the Ducks.

Jaffe also helped the offense in the win at Stevens scoring the final Haverford goal off a penalty stroke.

Eileen O'Reilly of Franklin & Marshall was awarded the Offensive Player of the Week.
