Hobbs climbs in conference rankings, named Centennial POW

LANCASTER, Pa. – Haverford College senior Mary Hobbs has been named the Centennial Conference's offensive player of the week in field hockey, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Hobbs scored four goals and added an assist in a 2-0 week for the 16th-ranked Fords (11-4, 7-2 Centennial). She opened the scoring with the first of two goals in Saturday's 5-2 conference victory over visiting McDaniel College, which followed a two goal, one assist game Thursday afternoon at Bryn Mawr College in an 8-3 defeat of the Owls in another league game.

The four-goal week pushed Hobbs' career total to 60, the first player in program history to reach that plateau. Hobbs also climbed the Centennial's career goals list, taking over the No. 5 spot, one shy of No. 4. With 39 career assists and 159 career points, the forward and team co-captain for Haverford ranks fifth in the conference record book in each of those categories.
