Field Hockey Receiving Votes in Latest NFHCA Poll

Full NFHCA Division III Poll Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College Field Hockey team is receiving votes in the second weekly National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Coaches Poll. Today's release represents the first time the Haverford program has received votes in the poll since October 6, 2015.

Haverford has opened the season on a 4-0 spurt, notching victories over Immaculata, Alvernia, Cabrini, and Eastern. Perhaps most impressively, the Fords offense has been firing on all cylinders, as the squad ranks as the seventh most prolific offense in all of Division III, averaging five goals per contest.

The Fords rank 10th in scoring margin (4.0) and 11th in the nation in assists per game (3.25). Individually, Ariana Sulpizio ranks 20th in the nation in points per game (3.25) and 30th in goals per game (1.25) in the early goings. Sulpizio is tied for the Centennial Conference lead in points (13) and asssists (3). Goalkeepers Hannah Roth and Sunny Truslow also each rank within the top 35 in the nation in goals against average, splitting time down the middle in each of the four games to begin the year.

Haverford was ranked as high as No. 15 during the 2012 season and hopes to continue a string of recent success under Head Coach Jackie Cox, as the squad will be seeking a fourth Centennial Conference playoff berth in the last five seasons.

The Fords now face a tough test against No. 2 Rowan, heading to the defending national semifinalists on Saturday night for a 7 p.m. first pass.
