Davis, Roth Pick Up CC Player of the Week Awards for Field Hockey

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - A pair of Haverford College field hockey seniors have been named Centennial Conference Players of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday as Ravenel Davis was named Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season while Hannah Roth picked up her second Defensive Player of the Week honors in the Centennial. Roth previously was also named the National Defensive Player of the Week on September 22.

Davis earned Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this fall after continuing her ascent in the record books with two more game-winning goals last week in a 2-0 week for the Fords. Davis now has nine game-winners on the season, which is tied for the most in Centennial single-season history and is a Haverford program record.

The senior scored the opening goal in shutout wins over both Washington College and Gettysburg last week, pushing the 20th-ranked Fords just one win shy of matching the program's all-time win record of 14 heading into the final week of the regular season. The Richmond, Va. product has played an integral role in this year's unprecedented success, as the senior captain leads the CC in goals (17) and points (36). Davis is 14th in the nation in goals per game (1.13).

Roth logged a pair of shutouts with eight saves in those wins over the Shorewomen and Bullets last week, helping the Fords secure a spot in the Centennial Conference postseason. Roth opened the week with a three-save shutout vs. Washington College before turning away five shots in another shutout vs. Gettysburg.

The Wilmette, Ill. product is second in the nation in save percentage (.849) and fourth in goals against average (0.71). Roth has seen every second in the cage for the 17th-ranked Fords, notching six shutouts this season.

Davis, Roth, and the Fords next return to action on Wednesday, heading to No. 14 Ursinus for a ranked vs. ranked matchup under the lights in Collegeville (7 p.m.). Haverford is looking for its first ever win over the Bears in what will be a crucial matchup for postseason seeding heading into a Senior Day home matchup with Swarthmore on Saturday.
