Field Hockey Places 23 On NFHCA National Academic Squad

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College field hockey team placed 20 student-athletes on the annual 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, per a press release on Thursday afternoon.

This season, over 1,700 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions have been named to the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Johns Hopkins and Middlebury College each matched the most selections this year with 24 student-athletes on the list, with Haverford just one short of that national-leading tally. 

The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams for the 2022-23 academic cycle, honors undergraduate collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Earning the award for the Fords in 2022 were: Olivia Ahart, Dalia Bercow, Anna Bradley, Amelia Bredbenner, Allison Cubell, Zora Dallmann, Zoey Despines, Rebecca DonahueClare Fleming, Sophie Frem, Caroline Frost, Anna Keneally, Amy Kim, Anna KirnVy Le, Rachel MarlinMargaret Martin, Ileana Rodriguez, Delaney Snowden, Lexie Streicher, Abigail Trapp, Holly Vincent, and Naomi York.

Seniors Ahart, Bercow, Snowden, and Streicher each picked up the award for the fourth time in their careers. In total, 277 student-athletes are appearing for the fourth time in their career and undergraduate four-year honorees have been distinguished in the award listing.

The NFHCA will continue Academic award announcements throughout the month of February, as the organization will next name the Scholors of Distinction on February 16th, followed by the National Academic Team Award on February 21st and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 22nd.
