Washington, D.C. – The Haverford College men's basketball team fell 79-68 in their first contest in six days at Catholic University on Nov. 28 at the DuFour Center.  The Fords were led by senior Ian Goldberg's 20 points.

The Fords go to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the Centennial Conference. The game was won at the free throw line, as Catholic, who improved to 4-0, shot 78 percent to Haverford's 53%. 

Catholic's Steve Limberiou led all scorers with 21 points, adding six rebounds to his stat sheet on the night.  Limberiou's squad also made a difference on bench points, outscoring the Fords 25-10.

The Fords tied the game twice thanks to junior Cam Baker in the first half but would never lead, as a 6-6 tie at 15:22 in the first half by Baker was the last time Haverford would be so close. Baker finished the evening with 17 points and six boards.

Haverford trailed 36-28 at the break.

In round two, the Fords made a run in the fifth minute, getting within six points (62-56) on a trey by senior forward Bo Friddell.  Friddell rang up 12 points and five boards on the day. In the final two minutes, Catholic stayed ahead by double-digits, sealing the game with two good Limberiou free throws to make it 79-68 Catholic.

Also putting up solid numbers for the Fords was sophomore forward Brett Cohen, who led the team with nine rebounds, and added seven points and two steals to boot.

Next up for the Fords will be a home contest on Wednesday (Nov. 30) as they host Washington College at 7:30 p.m. in Gooding Arena.
