Goldberg picks up Sam Cozen award

PHILADELPHIA – Senior co-captain Ian Goldberg was honored Tuesday afternoon at the Philadelphia Small College Coaches Luncheon with the Sam Cozen Award, presented to local men's basketball players who excel both on and off the court.

A guard, Goldberg leads the 2011-12 team in scoring with a career-best 14.0 points per game average. For his career, he is third on the program's all-time lists in made three-point field goals (146) and three-point field goal percentage (.382).

Goldberg has played in 89 out of a possible 90 games throughout his career with the Fords and earned a starting nod 61 times. Twice he has been a part of Centennial Conference playoff teams for Haverford.

Last season Goldberg was voted a second-team all-conference player and earned recognition on the conference's academic honor roll.
