Centennial Conference Unveils 2024-25 Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's basketball team has been selected ninth in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, the conference office announced in a release on Wednesday afternoon. 

Currently receiving votes in the Division III poll, Gettysburg was picked first in the preseason projections, collecting seven first-place votes and 78 total voting points. Grabbing the other three first-place votes was Johns Hopkins, who slid into the second slot with 71 total voting points. With 65 total voting points, Franklin & Marshall checks into the number three spot, while defending Centennial Conference champion Swarthmore was chosen fourth with 57 total voting points. In fifth was Ursinus, who closed out the top five of the preseason poll with 54 total voting points.

Dickinson was predicted sixth with 38 total voting points, while Muhlenberg (35 points) and McDaniel (24 points) fill out the seven and eight slots. Haverford was picked ninth with 16 total voting points, while Washington College was chosen 10th with 12 total voting points to round out the 2024-25 Centennial Conference preseason poll.

The Fords went through a roster overhaul this season, bringing in nine first-year players this season to join seven returners from last season. A player to look out for this season will be sophomore captain Logan Brown. Haverford's leading rebounder with 6.9 boards per game, averaged 7.65 points per contest, looking to up those totals in his second season with the Scarlet and Black.

Haverford will begin its 2024 season under the lights of Gooding '84 Arena, as the River Hawks of Susquehanna come to town on Saturday, November 9, at 2 p.m for a matinee.
