HAVERFORD, Pa. The Haverford College men's basketball team (3-2) fell short against Lancaster Bible College (2-3) in a high-scoring 100-83 non-conference matchup Saturday at Calvin J. Gooding '84 Arena.

Gaven Marr led the Fords with 18 points, hitting two three-pointers while adding five rebounds and four assists. Seth Anderson contributed a flawless 6-for-6 shooting performance, scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Sir William Morman III and Christian Uremovich also made key contributions off the bench, combining for 21 points. Uremovich, making his season debut for the Scarlet and Black, added an extra boost to the lineup.

Haverford faced relentless pressure from the Chargers, who tallied an impressive 41 fast-break points in an offensive showcase. Lancaster Bible's Grant Sareyka paced all scorers with 24 points, shooting 52 percent from the floor, while Camden Hurst added 23 points, and Connor Storr came close to a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.

The Chargers' aggressive defense forced 28 turnovers, converting them into 26 points. Although Haverford controlled the glass, out-rebounding Lancaster Bible 45-42, the Fords struggled to overcome their miscues and the Chargers' dominant 62 points in the paint.

The game remained competitive through the first half, with the teams trading leads five times. A three-pointer from Morman gave the Fords an early 12-7 edge, and Marr extended the lead to 17-13 with 12:28 remaining in the half. Derin Ongur added a three-pointer to push the lead to five with 11:57 on the clock. Morman's free throws tied the game at 36-36 with 1:42 left in the half, but a late 8-2 run by the Chargers sent Haverford into the break trailing 44-37.

Lancaster Bible opened the second half on a 12-3 run, taking control of the game. Hurst capped the surge with a three-pointer, but Anderson stopped the momentum with a bucket for Haverford. The Chargers continued their hot streak, with Hurst adding five more points, including a dunk with 16:51 remaining to stretch the lead to 61-42.

The Fords responded with an 11-1 run, cutting the deficit to single digits when Anderson scored a layup at the 14:16 mark. However, a 6-0 burst from the Chargers was briefly interrupted by another Anderson layup before back-to-back baskets from Storr and Luke Rumbaugh pushed Lancaster Bible's lead to 72-55. Uremovich capped a 6-0 Haverford run, but Sareyka answered quickly, leading an 8-0 Chargers run that stymied the Fords' momentum.

Despite a pair of Uremovich free throws pulling Haverford within 14 points with 6:21 remaining, Lancaster Bible's firepower proved too much down the stretch. Tyshaun Pulley's late three-pointer with under two minutes to play sealed the game for the visitors.

The Fords will return to action after the Thanksgiving holiday, continuing their five-game homestand with two non-conference games the week of December 2. Haverford hosts Arcadia on Wednesday December 4, at 7 p.m. before facing Neumann on Saturday, December 7, at 2 p.m.
