
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's basketball seniors Harry Johnson and Luke Phillips, along with sophomore Ali Kaan Bek, have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
To earn All-District honors, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, have reached at least their sophomore year, and be a key contributor to their team's season by playing in 90% of total games or starting in at least 66% of them.
Johnson, a senior economics and applied mathematics double major from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, will graduate in May after a distinguished career with the Fords. He played in 25 games with eight starts during the 2024-25 season, averaging 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. A three-year contributor, he has appeared in 75 career games with 38 starts, totaling 589 points and 283 rebounds. Johnson scored a career-high 20 points three times, including a 9-for-15 performance at Franklin & Marshall in 2021.
Phillips, an economics major from San Antonio, Texas, appeared in all 25 games with 10 starts this season, averaging 6.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 22 points at Swarthmore and recorded a season-best eight rebounds at Lycoming. Phillips shot 75.8% from the free-throw line and ranked among the team's leaders in three-pointers made.
Bek, a sophomore from Istanbul, Turkey, started 13 games and played in 24 during the 2024-25 season, averaging 8.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 25 points against Neumann and led the team with 67 assists. Bek also made 28 three-pointers and shot 73.5% from the free-throw line.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions—NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 15.
