PJ Jackson Named to North-South Senior All-Star Game

HAVERFORD, Pa. – PJ Jackson, the 2017 Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year, has been selected to play in the Division III USILA/Nike North-South game this weekend. The North-South game will be played at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College this Friday, May 26. The game time is 3 p.m. for the Division III game with the Division I-II game following at 5:30 p.m.

Jackson was voted the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year by conference coaches earlier this spring after the team captain led the Fords in both caused turnovers (28) and ground balls (46). He was one of four players who started all 15 games for Haverford this season and had a caused turnover in 14 of those contests, including nine games with two or more caused turnovers. His best individual game came when he forced five caused turnovers in the 5-1 win at Gwynedd Mercy.

Additionally, Jackson collected multiple ground balls in each of Haverford's final 14 games. He secured a career-best three ground balls against Stockton, Gettysburg, and Ursinus this season. He also scored goals in transition against Cabrini and Dickinson. The Gregory Kannerstein '63 Award recipient at the Senior Student-Athlete Banquet, he graduates from Haverford ranked third all-time with 72 caused turnovers. His 1.87 caused turnovers per game this year was the eighth best mark for a single season in program history.

A total of 66 seniors were selected to play in the North-South Game. Jackson is one of four players who will represent the Centennial Conference as a member of the South team. He is the 13th player in Haverford's program history to be selected to play in the North-South Game and the first since Scott Chanelli '13.
