Ben Frost Named Men's CC Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Ben Frost has been selected as the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for all men's sports. The Centennial recognizes a Scholar-Athlete of the Year in each of its 24 championship sports to a junior or senior member of the All-Conference team with the highest cumulative grade point average. The overall Scholar-Athletes of the Year are presented to the student with the highest GPA among the 12 men and 12 women's winners.

Since the award was first presented just four years ago in 2016, Haverford has already earned this distinction twice on the men's side. James Stadler '18 was named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's outdoor track & field during his junior campaign before being honored as the overall male winner later that spring.

A chemistry major, Frost was named Haverford College's William W. Ambler '45 Award recipient for having the highest cumulative grade point average among all senior student-athletes. He became just the 11th different player in the history of the Centennial Conference to earn CC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors as both a junior and senior in any sport. A three-time honoree on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, Frost just earned CoSIDA honors for the second straight season and has already been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer All-Academic Team in each his first two seasons eligible for this award with those honorees not yet announced for the 2019 team.

Frost garnered All-Centennial Conference recognition for the second straight season as he was also an honorable mention All-CC recipient a year ago and came back in 2019 with career highs in goals (24), assists (8), points (32), shots (98), and shots on goal (54) from his spot in the midfield. Frost started all 15 games during the regular season for Haverford. Always a threat on man-up chances, each of his three man-up tallies came in Centennial Conference play to rank sixth among his conference peers. He scored 14 of his 24 goals during conference play and added half of his assists during that same time.
