April 10, 2016

Recap | Box Score

What a weekend it was for the Haverford College lacrosse programs in April of 2016. The women's game with Dickinson was shortened by snow in a classic battle while the men's game was postponed to Sunday. Even though the sun was out on this day, the result was still a Haverford victory as the Fords emerged a 9-8 winner over the Red Devils. Dickinson came into the weekend receiving votes in the USILA national polls, giving the Fords their first victory since the 2010 season against a team garnering votes in the national rankings at the time. Then a first-year, Rob McLallen '19 led the Fords with three goals while Tav Hafner '16 added two more. Neither side led by more than one until Patrick Girard's '18 goal with 12:09 remaining in the third quarter put the Fords up 7-5. All-American Eric Caliendo '16 made six saves on the afternoon as the Fords did not concede a goal during the final 12:35 of playing time to come away with a 9-8 triumph.
