Goalkeepers Donlon and Weisberg Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team

Full CoSIDA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford men's lacrosse senior goalkeepers Ethan Donlon and Joe Weisberg have each been named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team. Selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), this award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

The at-large teams take into account all sports which do not have a dedicated all-academic team. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August.

Donlon, a physis major and Ambler Scholar-Athlete from Concord, N.H, is a three-time member of the Centennial Conference Honor Roll and was named an honorable mention All-Centennial Conference selection following the 2019 campaign. Donlon took over as the starting goalie with just six contests remaining that season but certainly made a big impact in that short span as he helped the Fords to road wins against then-No. 10 Dickinson and then-No. 10 Ursinus. Donlon was named to the USILA National Team of the Week on two occasions and was been named a Centennial Conference Player of the Week three times over the course of his career.

Weisberg, a history and spanish double major, was named Haverford's 2021 recipient of the William W. Ambler '45 Award. That honor is presented by the Haverford College Department of Athletics to the senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average. The Plantation, Fla. native became the third recipient from the men's lacrosse team in the past four years, joining former teammates Jack Sollee '18 and Ben Frost '19. A three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll award recipient, Weisberg appeared in three contests stopping 12 shots. Weisberg has been admitted to graduate school at Brandeis University. While there, he will be pursuing a PhD in history in the fall.
