WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Haverford College men's lacrosse team (5-5, 1-2 CC) grabbed a Centennial Conference road win over McDaniel (4-8, 0-3 CC), snapping a two-game losing streak with the 14-7 triumph at Gill Stadium. Battling rainy conditions, the Fords scored nine first half goals before a defensive-minded second half saw Haverford outscore the Green Terror 5-1 en-route to closing out the win.

Sean Mowatt-Larssen had a fantastic contest with five goals on 12 shots, also adding a pair of ground balls and a caused turnover to his ledger. Teddy Carlin was a force at the face-off X, going 13-19 while scooping nine ground balls, completely setting the tone for the Fords in the methodical contest.

The Fords scored the first goal of the game off the stick of Blake Brinster, as the senior found an assist from Matt Richards and finished for the early lead. The Green Terror then powered home two consecutive goals, but Brinster ended that run with a goal at 9:10 remaining in the first, taking the feed from Eric Dahlberg to knot the score at 2-2.

The Fords later rattled off a pair of strikes, with Graves and Mowatt-Larssen each scoring in the stretch. The lead grew to 6-3 as Graves and Dahlberg each tallied, and ultimately, the Fords would receive some breathing room as a 3-0 stretch that included a scoop-and-score goal from Samuel Millie gave Haverford a 9-4 cushion with 2:27 remaining in the half.

Sticking right around with the Fords, the Green Terror scored two goals in the final 30 seconds of the half to trim things to just a three-goal cushion, but Haverford stifled McDaniel in the final 30 minutes of action. The Fords held the hosts scoreless from the halftime whistle until 6:14 remaining in regulation, holding the Green Terror firmly at bay while a 4-0 run that saw goals from Mowatt-Larssen, Devin Lefkowitz, and Gray Pollock helped lengthen the lead. For good measure, Mowatt-Larssen took an assist from Mychal West and buried the final goal of the day to reflect the seven-goal final cushion.

Lefkowitz was a two-way force yet again, as he caused three turnovers and scooped two ground balls to go with his goal. Nate Rose had three caused turnovers and three ground balls while Max Elliott scooped three ground balls in his starting turn.

The Fords only allowed 11 turnovers and dominated in the midfield to the tune of a 16-24 clip on FOs and 37 ground balls to just 18 for the Green Terror. Haverford registered double-digit shots in each quarter, including 33 in the first half while allowing only 16 from the hosts.

Colby Freeman and Jacob Abraham each saw one half in goal, making four saves each. Freeman was credited with the win thanks to his first half between the pipes.

The Fords scored their most goals in a win over McDaniel since the 2005 season. Haverford has won two consecutive matchups against McDaniel and notched wins in four of the last five meetings.

Men's Lacrosse now has the weekend off from competition and returns to action at home against Ursinus, with a Wednesday, April 13 contest against the Bears on Swan Field. Opening face-off is slated for 7 p.m. with the annual Senior Varsity Blanket Ceremony taking place ahead of the start of the contest.
