Men's Squash Battles No.17 GWU and No. 28 Johns Hopkins

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Haverford College men's squash team fell to No. 17 George Washington University and No.28 Johns Hopkins University by identical 9-0 scores in a doubleheader on Nov. 20. 

The losses move the Fords to 1-7 on the season.

In the No. 1 spot, Chris Tyson stepped up and took Islam El-Fiky 11-0, 11-5, 11-3, while No. 4 Charlie Michele fell to Adam Pistel in three tough games (11-3, 11-0, 11-6). 

Despite two losses, Coach Niki Clement was pleased with the improvement from freshmen and sophomore newcomers at No.7-9 for Haverford.  With the top competition, Ford players are being exposed to the best talent in the country.

"This weekend only built on our experience level as the team continues to improve," said Coach Clement.   

Next up for the Fords will be a Dec. 3 competition at Yale, game time is 3 p.m.
