PHILADELPHIA – The 42nd-ranked Haverford College men's squash team stormed its way into the championship match of the Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Serues Cup (F Division) bracket with an 8-1 second-round victory over the 46th-ranked University of Illinois-Champaign on Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania squash courts.

Each of the eight wins on Saturday by Haverford (6-13) were by 3-0 scores. The Illini fall to 6-2 with the loss.

The Fords' Zef Konst made quick work of Vedant Bubna at No. 3 with 11-4, 11-2 and 11-3 wins. Also working quickly for the Fords were Peter Boal with 11-6, 11-4 and 11-5 wins over Kevan Lee Lum in the No. 7 spot, and Andy McComas who defeated Anthony Chau, 11-6, 11-2, and 11-4 in the No. 2 slot.

Robbie Thompson went the extra mile in defeating Illinois' Prateek Arora, working overtime with 11-6, 12-10 and 12-10 wins.

The Fords have won four in a row, getting hot at the right time in the season. Early-season match-ups against several top-25 teams has prepared the men from Haverford for the stiff competition at the CSA tournament.

Sunday's Serues Cup championship match pits the Fords against a 5-3 University of Virginia squad which is ranked No. 46 in the most recent CSA rankings. UVa reached the championship match after a 9-0 win over Lehigh University in Friday's first round, and an 8-1 win over Swarthmore College in second-round winner's bracket action Saturday afternoon.
