HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's squash team recorded its third straight win as it upended the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks 8-1 on Thursday night at the GIAC Squash Courts.

Haverford's three-match winning streak is the most since it won seven straight over two seasons (2012). The Fords ended the 2011-12 season with five consecutive wins and began the 2012-13 schedule with two victories.

Junior Nathan Vestrich-Shade got the scoring started for Haverford with a four-game victory at the No. 1 position. He dropped the first game, but rallied to win three in a row including a tight 14-12 battle in game three. Sophomore Aaron Horwitz, junior Laurenson Ward, freshmen Peter Dudley, Zach Cole and Shilin Jog each won in three games.

Dudley's victory was his ninth of the season. His .692 winning percentage (9-4) is the 10th best for a single season in program history. Ward won his 20th career match and is now one of only 19 players all-time to accomplish the feat.

Junior Alex Egilman shut out his opponent in the fourth game to score another point for Haverford. Junior Will Greer was also a four-game winner for the Fords. Jeff Schwartz recorded the only point for Lehigh, tallying a four-game win over sophomore Chris Hoogstraten.

Ranked 43rd in the College Squash Association's rankings, the Fords' win over the Mountain Hawks (No. 35) gives them their second win over an opponent ahead them in the rankings in a week. Head coach Niki Clement's squad now welcomes No. 14 Navy (10:30 a.m.) and Bucknell (3 p.m.) to the GIAC Squash Courts this Saturday.
