Men's Squash Earns 7-2 Win over Lehigh

WINDSOR, Conn. – The Haverford College men's squash team won its Day 2 match of the Chaffee Cup in the College Squash Association's (CSA) Team Championships over the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks 7-2 on Saturday morning at the Loomis Chaffee School.

Junior Nathan Vestrich-Shade got the Fords off to a great start with a three-game win (11-4, 11-2, 11-3) at the No. 1 ladder position. Sophomore Aaron Horwitz dropped just five points in the final two games of his victory at the No. 2 position. Junior Laurenson Ward was also victorious, winning in three games.

Freshman Peter Dudley rallied to take the final two games of his match to win in four. Junior Will Greer came all the way back from being down two games to none to win in five (6-11, 10-12, 11-4, 11-9, 11-7). Freshman Benjamin Soloway took home another point for the Fords with an 11-8 take down in game five of his match at the No. 8 position.

Haverford now has four players with 10 victories or more this season. Dudley tallied his team-leading 12th of the season while Ward set a new career high with his 10th win in the Fords' victory today. Dudley's 12 wins are two shy of the single season record. Horwitz also scored his 10th win of the year. Head coach Niki Clement's squad is now 11-8 on the season and will take on the winner of Northeastern and Fordham in the consolation final of the Chaffee Cup on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
