Fords dip toe into indoor season

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The start of the indoor track & field season came Saturday for Haverford College's men's team and it inched into the winter season by sending two of its athletes into the Jack Pyrah Invitational hosted by Villanova University at The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center in Haverford's Alumni Field House.

Sophomore Jeffrey Ainsley raced to a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.77 seconds and leaped to a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a best of 6.11 meters (20 feet, 0.5 inches).

In the pole vault, senior Michael Iannacone cleared a height of 3.80 meters (12-5.5) for a seventh-place finish in the event.

The Fords jump into the indoor season with its next meet on Saturday, Dec. 14 when it will host the Haverford Holiday Meet at the Lutnick Tennis & Track Center.
