Men's Indoor T&F Has Outstanding Meet vs. Widener

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's indoor track and field team took part in a dual meet vs. Widener University on Thursday afternoon at the Alumni Field House. No team scores were kept during the meet.

Sophomore Alex Frost was a winner in the 55m event and was second in the 200m while junior Jonathan Yellets scored a victory for Haverford in the 400m (51.98).

Freshman Henry Woods had the best mile time (4:28.30) while the Fords had six of the top seven runners in the event.

Senior David Roza led a pack of five Fords' runners in the 5,000m event with a time of 15:26.75. Senior David Marsico, who finished third, had a career-best time of 15:32.92. Sophomore Evan Hamilton also posted his personal best time with a 15:58.33.

The 4x200m relay team paced the field with a 1.33.87 time.

The reigning Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, junior Jeffrey Ainsley, registered wins in the 55m hurdles and Long Jump. Ainsley's time of 7.96 in the 55m hurdles was his personal best. He was also third (10.38m) in the shot put event, behind his teammates Alex Smith (11.70m) and Robert Parry (11.61)

Head coach Tom Donnelly's squad will now have an extended break before taking part in the New York City Gotham Cup on Jan. 16.
