Three Winners for Men's Indoor T&F at Kutztown

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Haverford College men's indoor track and field team participated in its first meet of 2016 and had three individual winners at the Kutztown Invitational on Friday evening (Jan. 15).

Haverford's Julian Schneider picked up his first career individual indoor title, winning the 1,000m (2:41.05). Sophomore Tyler Fong also secured his first career individual crown, setting a personal best in the mile (4:36.24). Another winner for Haverford include sophomore Henry Woods in the 3,000m (9:02.30). Woods was four seconds ahead of the second place finisher and scored his first career victory in the 3,000m.

In the 55m hurdles final, senior Jeffrey Ainsley finished in second place just two-tenths of a second behind the top finisher. The senior also placed in a tie for fifth in the high jump (1.80m). Freshman Liam Lynch nabbed a top-five finish in the 200m with a 23.38 while Ainsley crossed the finish line 14th (24.06) among the 39 runners in the event. Lynch's time is tied for the 10th fastest in program history. In the 800m, senior Ryan Gooding was fourth (2:04.87) among 20 runners.

The 4x400m relay squad of seniors Jonathan YelletsDorvil Gabriel, Frost and Lynch posted a 3:32.14, third quickest in the 11-team field.

During the triple jump, Gabriel set a personal mark with a 12.30m which tied him for sixth. Senior Robert Parry had personal best mark in the shot put (12.60m), placing 12th while sophomore Josiah Legaspi had his best shot put attempt, throwing an 11.81m.

Men's indoor track & field will return to action next Saturday, January 23 as the Fords take part in the Ursinus Invitational. Ursinus will also serve as the host site for the Centennial Conference Indoor Championship at the end of February.
