Track & Field Teams Announce Indoor Schedules

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's and women's track & field teams have released their 2018-19 schedules. The Fords will jointly host three meets inside the Alumni Field House as the men are slated to compete in eight meets before the championship season gets underway. The women are scheduled to compete at seven meets during the winter months.

The season starts for both teams on Saturday, December 8 with the Haverford Holiday Meet on Saturday, December 8. Haverford will also host its annual McElligott Invitational on Saturday, January 26 while the Keogh Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, February 16.

With just one meet during the month of December, both teams will return to competition prior to the spring semester on January 12. The men will compete at the TCNJ Invitational that day while the women travel to Centennial Conference foe Franklin & Marshall during their return to competition. The next weekend, January 19, both teams will head to Ursinus which will also serve as the host site for the Centennial Conference Championships at the end of February.

After the McElligott Invitational to close out January, both teams will be back at Ursinus for the running of the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday, February 2. That same day, the men will head to New York with individuals also competing at the Villanova Invitational. On Friday, February 1, the women will have a second meet that weekend as it begins with a trip to New York for the NYU Armory Invitational. While the women enjoy a weekend away from competition the following week, the men will head to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

The Keogh Invitational will mark the final meet for both teams before they compete at the Centennial Indoor Conference Championships which will run from Saturday, February 23 through Sunday, February 24 at Franklin & Marshall. After the conference indoor champion, qualified individuals will compete at the NCAA Division III Championships from Friday, March 8 – Saturday, March 9. The 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in Boston at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Haverford returns a pair of All-Americans from the 2018 indoor season, highlighted by defending 3,000 meter national champion Dylan Gearinger. Greg Morgan also placed fifth in the mile at the 2018 indoor national championships to garner All-American status while Graham Peet was a qualifier in the 5,000 meter race. One the women's side, both Sophie Drew and Molly Hawkins are returning All-Centennial Conference honorees as both were members of Haverford's runner-up finish in the 4x800 meter relay at the conference level.
