2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Ratings Index (Week 4)

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's indoor track & field team checks in at No. 16 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Ratings index, the organization announced in a release on Wednesday afternoon. The fourth weekly ranking was the first to exclude preseason marks, and only took into account times, distances, and heights that have been compiled in 2018-19.

Haverford's spot can be attributed largely to senior Greg Morgan's impressive performances in the 3,000 meters and mile. Morgan owns the top spot in Division III in both distances, recording a 4:05.01 mile at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Saturday, en route to a third consecutive Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week award. Morgan's 3,000-meter time from the NYU Armory Invitational in January also still stands as the best time in Division III so far this season (8:14.56).

First year Jamie Moreland (1:53.88 in the 800 meters) and senior Graham Peet (8:28.14 in the 3,000 meters and 14:42.94 in the 5,000 meters) also contributed to Haverford's total of 45.60, as the marks are all within the top 35 in their respective events. 

In total, only two of the top 50 teams remained in place in a week that shook up the national rankings. North Central (Ill.) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh were the only two programs to remain on stable ground, retaining the top two spots in the listing. Wisconsin-La Crosse, Mount Union, Wisconsin-Platteville, Wisconsin-Whitewater, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Wesley, WPI, and Southern Maine round out the latest top 10.

Johns Hopkins moved up 13 places to No. 27, as the only other Centennial squad to be ranked within the top 50 programs. 

Haverford will now return to action on Saturday, hosting the final regular season meet of the season, the Keogh Invitational. Action inside the Alumni Field House is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
