HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford sophomore Jamie Moreland has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, representing the second straight week a Haverford runner has been selected after junior Matt Katz took home the honor a week ago.

Moreland won the mile at the Tufts Cupid Challenge in Medford, Mass., crossing the finish in a career-best time of 4:15.08. The time is the fastest in the Centennial Conference so far this season and currently ranks as the eighth-fastest time in all of Division III in 2019-20. The Los Angeles product figures to be in strong contention for an appearance at nationals with the mile mark, and will look to further bolster his qualification chances at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational back in the Boston area on Saturday, February 15.

The 2018 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year in cross country previously established the fourth-fastest 800-meter mark in the conference at the NYC Division III Invitational on January 31, posting a time of 1:58.06 following a banked track conversion while marking his return to competitve action for the first time in nearly a calendar year due to injuries.

In addition to Moreland's weekend appearance at Boston University, Haverford will host the McElligott Invitational at the Alumni Field House on Saturday, February 15. Action in both meets is expected to commence at 10 a.m.
