Moreland Nabs CC Track Athlete of the Week Award

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College men's track & field junior Jamie Moreland has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday morning.

Moreland, a Los Angeles native, is the second Haverford athlete to pick up the award so far this season as Peter LaRochelle was named to the honors in December. Moreland, an All-American in the mile during the 2020 indoor season, was also named the Centennial Conference Outstanding Track Performer that season. This is Moreland's second weekly honor within the indoor season, also picking up the designation in February of 2020.

Moreland ran a 1:57.27 in the 800 meters at the TCNJ Lions Invite in New York City, the top time in the Centennial so far this season. The time is also 27th in Division III and was good for fifth place in a highly-competitive field that included runners from all three divisions racing at the NYC Armory.

The Fords will look to continue the strong run of success from the indoor campaign thus far as the squad heads to Ursinus on Saturday for the Collegeville Classic.
