Three Named All-CC For Men's Indoor Track & Field

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College has placed three team members on the All-Centennial Conference teams, with Jamie Moreland earning a first-team designation for winning the gold medal in the mile, while Peter Buckley (5,000 meters) and Ethan Gadra (pole vault) each earned honorable mention.

In addition, senior captain Matt Katz was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.

Moreland set a new Centennial Conference Championships meet record, clocking a 4:11.47, almost three seconds faster than the previous meet record of 4:14.03 set by Charlie Marquardt '16. In addition to Moreland, the second and third place finishers from Johns Hopkins also eclipsed the previous meet record in a blazing fast final heat.  Moreland is the 25th Centennial Conference mile champion in program history and the fourth consecutive winner from Haverford, reprising his title from the 2020 event. Haverford also had a medal winning performance in the 5,000 meters with Peter Buckley picking up the bronze in 15:04.20 to earn honorable mention designation.

Ethan Gadra also picked up a bronze for the Fords in the pole vault, as he cleared 4.09 meters (13'-5") to tie with Peter Lim of Johns Hopkins for the bronze. Gadra, the 2020 champion in the distance, has now picked up a medal at three consecutive CC championship meets dating back to his first year campaign.

With the indoor season now concluded, Haverford will open the 2022 Outdoor Track & Field campaign with the Danny Curran Invitational on April 1 at Widener.
