Kredell Earns CC Weekly Honors For Indoor Track & Field

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford men's indoor track & field senior Ryan Kredell continues to add accolades to his impressive senior season, as the reigning Centennial Conference Runner of the Year for the cross country campaign picked up his first indoor track Athlete of the Week accolade in 2023, the conference office announced this morning.

The Geneva, Ill. product raced to the second-fastest 3,000-meter time in Centennial Conference history (8:11.41) on Saturday at the Villanova Invitational, finishing fourth behind only Division I runners from Villanova and La Salle at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island.

The time ranks atop the Centennial Conference by more than 13 seconds and is third in the nation so far this indoor season. Kredell's time is also the third-fastest in Haverford program history and ranks behind only former Haverford standout Charlie Marquardt's time of 8:06.56 on the CC all-time list. Marquardt's time was also set at the Villanova Invitational back in 2016, as he earned NCAA Division III National Athlete of the Week for that accomplishment.

Last week, classmate Jamie Moreland picked up the CC Track Athlete of the Week award. Moreland posted a career-best time of 1:52.93 in the 800 meters at the TCNJ Indoor Invitational at the Armory, winning the event title with the best time in the Centennial Conference thus far in 2022-23.

Kredell and Moreland are expected to compete on Friday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston. The Boston University hosted meet begins at 11 a.m. and a live video broadcast of the prestigious meet is available via the FloTrack subscription service.

The rest of the Haverford indoor track & field contingent will be in action again this Saturday for the McElligott Invitational at the Alumni Field House, the first of two indoor home meets for the Fords.
