HAVERFORD, Pa. -  Haverford College senior Ryan Kredell earned a second consecutive Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week Award, the conference office announced in its weekly release on Tuesday morning.

The Geneva, Illinois product earned his second straight weekly award after shattering both the Centennial and Haverford records in the 5,000 meters at the Terrier Classic in Boston. Kredell crossed in 14:02.37, which ranks third in Division III and was the fifth all-time individual mark within Division III.  The previous Centennial Conference record was held by Jordan Schilit '12, who also established that time at the Terrier Classic back in 2012 with his time of 14:12.77 seconds. The previous Haverford record was set by Seamus McElligott '91 in 1991 (14:07.69).

Kredell looks to be in great shape to represent Haverford at the NCAA Championships, which will be held on March 10 and March 11 at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to his 5,000-meter time, he also holds the seventh-fastest 3,000-meter mark this season (8:11.41), as well as the 15th-fastest mile (4:11.02). Classmate Jamie Moreland currently holds the best mile time in Division III this season (4:03.66).

Kredell and the rest of the Haverford contingent will be back in action this weekend, with a group heading to The Armory complex in New York City while another group stays a bit closer to home for the Colden Invitational at Ursinus.
