NEW ORLEANS - The Haverford College men's track & field team jumped up three spots in the latest release of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field National TFRI (Track & Field Ratings Index), climbing to the No. 12 national ranking, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon. Wisconsin-La Crosse, MIT, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Williams, and John Carroll are the top five teams in the nation this week. Haverford is the highest ranked team from the Centennial Conference, ahead of 20th-ranked Johns Hopkins.

The Fords totaled 52.30 total points in the national ranking this week. Jamie Moreland's top-ranked mile at the Terrier Classic accounts for 22.71 points, while his 17th-place 800-meter run accounts for 1.30 points. Ryan Kredell earned 18.41 points for his 5,000-meter run at the Terrier Classic, while also contributing for his mile (1.10) and 3,000-meter marks (8.79).

No marks from previous seasons have been used, which means this objective list, which is not a poll in the traditional sense, is compiled solely of current qualifying marks from the 2023 indoor track & field season. The rankings should not be confused as a "form chart" or a hard-line predictor of NCAA Championship team finishes, but merely as an indicator of those who have the best chances and deepest rosters to compete as the nation's best.

In addition to the national ranking, Haverford is third in the Metro region, behind track stalwarts Rowan and TCNJ, but ahead of conference foe Ursinus and Stockton. Moreland will next compete at the 115th Millrose Games right back at The Armory on Saturday, February 11. He will be part of the George Hirsch Invitational Mile field, with that contest slated to begin at approximately 4:10 p.m. as another record breaking weekend could be on the horizon.

The rest of the Haverford squad will also be in New York City, with a trip to Staten Island on Friday, February 10 for the FastTrack National Invite. Action at Ocean Breeze is slated to begin at noon. Mark your calendars for March 10-11, because that's when the 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama.
