Men's Track & Field Earns 13 Indoor All-Metro Region Certificates

Full USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS - The Haverford men's indoor track & field squad team picked up a whopping 13 All-Metro Region certificates for the 2022-23 season, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon.

All-Region designation is given to student-athletes who rank within the top five marks for an individual event according to the final TFRRS list in their respective regions. Runners who are part of relays that finish within the top three in the region are also designated as All-Region athletes. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Senior Jamie Moreland earned three All-Region designations, picking up the award for the top-ranked DMR along with the top-ranked time in the mile and the 800 meters. Senior Ryan Kredell owns the top 3,000-meter and top 5,000 meter time in the Metro Region while also earning the third-best mile time in the Metro.

Sophomore Reza Eshghi also has three All-Region certificates to his name as he picked up the award for his fourth-ranked mile, his second-ranked 3,000 meters, and his leg of the top-ranked DMR.

Sophomore Peter LaRochelle notched two All-Region nods, earning the award for his fourth-best 3,000-meter time, and his second-ranked 5,000-meter time as Haverford, the two-time defending regional champion in cross country, thoroughly dominated the middle distance and distance events among competitors in the Metro this year.

Key DMR legs from juniors Ravi Eaton and Matthew Denton also qualified for All-Region honors.

With the indoor season wrapping up for the men's team, Haverford will be represented by Moreland (mile) and Kredell (5,000 meters) at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama. More information and a full preview are slated to be available later this week.
