Two Silvers and a Bronze Highlight Day One at CC Indoor Championships for Men's Track & Field

LANCASTER, Pa. — After a jam-packed Saturday of action at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Franklin & Marshall College, the Haverford College men sit in fourth place overall with 31 total points.

Haverford delivered a strong showing to open events in Lancaster, highlighted by multiple top-three finishes and a standout performance in the men's 5,000 meters.

The first distance event of the weekend saw Peter LaRochelle claim second place in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:55.61, earning eight points toward the Haverford ledger and securing more hardware. LaRochelle has now won the silver medal in the event for the second consecutive season. Seamus Fraser (6th, 15:16.74) and Luke de Valpine (8th, 15:23.23) also contributed points toward Haverford's first-day total, while Jakob Maiwald (14th, 15:35.45) rounded out the Fords' effort in the event.

In field events, Jory Lee secured a third-place finish in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 14.05 meters (46 feet, 1.25 inches), solidifying the fourth-best mark in program history and earning six points for the Fords. Lee grabbed his second consecutive bronze in the event.

The relays were a key area of success for the Fords on Saturday. The 4x200-meter relay team, Thomas Fendig, Vir Goyal, Nico Greene and Samuel Lin, delivered an electrifying performance, clocking in at 1:32.15 and finishing second to secure eight points for a crucial silver medal. The time improves upon their season-best and is now the second-best mark in program history, showcasing incredible speed and teamwork for one of the biggest highlights of the first day.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Reed Solomon, Torin Pelton-Flavin, Tate Sheehy and Gopal Patel, placed eighth with a time of 8:21.45, adding a point to Haverford's tally. Meanwhile, the distance medley relay, Pelton-Flavin, Goyal, Reef Kirchner and Solomon, finished fifth with a time of 10:41.95, earning four points to the Haverford total. 

Will Singer competed in the weight throw and was narrowly off his personal best, finishing 19th with a throw of 10.76 meters (35 feet, 3.75 inches).

In the sprints, Zenas Boamah led the Fords in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.30 seconds, placing 17th. Nico Greene (7.34), Niko Beros (7.38) and Samuel Lin (7.45) also competed but did not advance past the prelims.

Following day one at the Centennial Conference Championships, the Fords will return to Schnader Field House on the campus of Franklin & Marshall for day two, with action slated to begin Sunday at 11 a.m.
