LANCASTER, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field team concluded the Centennial Conference Championships at Franklin & Marshall on Sunday with several standout performances, highlighted by a gold and silver finish in the 3,000 meters from Reza Eshghi and Peter LaRochelle. Eshghi also continued his dominant season in the mile, securing another conference title in the event.

Haverford finished fourth overall with 78 total points, a strong showing ahead of fifth-place Muhlenberg (62). Johns Hopkins (175) edged Ursinus (132) for the overall team title. Haverford also earned a Hood Trophy point by finishing above eighth-place Swarthmore (47 points).

Eshghi brought Haverford back to the top of the medal podium in the mile for the second consecutive season with a blazing meet-record time of 4:08.09. He has now scored in the event for four straight seasons and claimed the program's 27th Centennial Conference mile title. Following Eshghi's incredible run, teammate Seamus Fraser finished 14th overall (4:29.08), while Torin Pelton-Flavin, running out of heat one, placed 17th overall in 4:34.54.

The Lincoln, Mass., native also won the 3,000-meter title, completing a distance double with a time of 8:31.56, just ahead of LaRochelle in second (8:33.27). Haverford's 18 points in the event played a crucial role in its Sunday scoring, as Eshghi improved upon last season's runner-up finish, while LaRochelle built on his fifth-place showing from 2024. Just outside the scoring, Luke de Valpine crossed ninth (8:47.40), Micah Lachman placed 12th (8:50.23), and Jakob Maiwald rounded out the Haverford contingent in 13th (8:50.82).

In the 400 meters, Thomas Fendig placed fourth overall, earning five points for the Fords with a strong time of 50.52—just half a second off a medal performance.

The 200-meter dash saw Fendig lead all Haverford runners in 12th place (23.40), followed by Niko Beros in 18th with a personal-best 23.80. Zenas Boamah finished 19th (23.95), while Samuel Lin took 20th (24.01).

In the 800 meters, Haverford narrowly missed a podium finish as first-year Reef Kirchner delivered a stellar conference championship debut, finishing fourth in 1:56.23, a new personal best. Reed Solomon placed 16th with a season-best 2:01.05.

In field events, Jackson Juzang had an impressive first appearance at the Centennial Conference Championships, placing fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.38 meters (20 feet, 11.25 inches). Jory Lee also scored for the Fords in fifth place, clearing 6.32 meters (20 feet, 9 inches), while Mark Tringas finished just outside the scoring positions in 12th (6.02 meters).

The 4x400-meter relay team of Vir Goyal, Nico Greene, Boamah, and Fendig finished ninth with a time of 3:31.60.

Looking ahead to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Rochester, N.Y., in two weeks, Eshghi is a strong contender for a spot in both the 3,000 meters or the mile. His school-record time in the 3,000 meters, set in Boston two weekends ago, currently ranks fifth in the nation, while his mile performance from today is the sixth-fastest. The top 20 declared athletes in individual events and the top 12 relays qualify for the NCAA Championships.

The upcoming weekend's action at the Tufts Last Chance Meet in Medford, Mass. provides a final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
